An entrance device having a door opened and closed in the horizontal direction at an entrance for a passenger, includes: a reflector 16 provided below a landing entrance 9 and having a diffusion reflecting surface 16a inclined to the vertical direction; a projection part 15 provided below the landing entrance 9 and radiating irradiation light 17 toward the diffusion reflecting surface 16a; a light receiving part 19 provided above the landing entrance 9 and receiving reflected light 18 reflected on the diffusion reflecting surface 16a; and a processing part 19c for detecting the presence/absence of an object between the diffusion reflecting surface 16a and the light receiving part 19 on the basis of output from the light receiving part 19.
