Abstract:
PURPOSE: To run blood uniformly to the whole of hollow thread bundle and realize smooth inflow even in a case in which the high flow of blood is introduced into a blood introduction portion, at an entrance header for an artificial lung, by providing at the peripheral wall of the blood introduction portion of a cylindrical shape means to deter a blood rotary current.
CONSTITUTION: An entrance side header for a hollow thread film type artificial lung is equipped with a cylindrical blood introduction portion 20 that bulges out of the outer surface of its circular main body 10, a blood entrance port composed of a vein blood entrance port 30 arranged so that blood may flow into the tangent direction of the introduction portion 20, and a cardiotomy return port 40, and an oxygenuentrance port 50. In addition, the header has at the inner surface of the peripheral wall of the blood introduction portion 20 means 60, 61 to deter the rotary current of the introduced blood, and these deterring means 60, 61 are provided at the inner surface of the peripheral wall that is in the downstream direction of a blood current.
