Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for environmental clean-up using microorganisms, capable of preventing secondary pollution due to microorganisms and especially enabling clean-up treatment to be carried out without affecting an ecology in open environmental systems such as polluted soil and/or polluted sea areas, and to provide a new microorganism suitable for utilization in environmental clean-up.
SOLUTION: A first microorganism capable of decomposing pollutant is contacted with the pollutant existing in environment so as to decompose the pollutant, and then a second microorganism (or its extract) having antagonism against the first microorganism is acted on the first microorganism so as to restrain the propagation of the first microorganism. The first microorganism is selected from the group consisting of bacteria belonging to Janibacter, Arhrobacter, Brevibacterium, Clavibacter, Mycobacterium, Terrabacter and Renibacterium. The second microorganism is selected from new microorganisms consisting of AY-001 strain, AY-002 strain, AY-003 strain, AY-004 strain, AY-006 strain, AY-007 strain and AY-008 strain.
