To provide an environmental control system which reduces the amount of external air flowing into a cabin while meeting the minimum flow rate regulations per each occupant, improves airflow and air quality in the cabin, reduces pollutants in the cabin, reduces thermal load, reduces external air input.
An fuselage of an aircraft 12 includes a passenger cabin area 18, an occupancy zone 28, a recirculation zone 30 and a floor distribution section 22. An air supply system includes an external air supply device 50 and supply duct 52. An air supply outlet is coupled in flow communication to the supply duct and in flow communication with the occupancy zone and/or the floor distribution section. An air recirculation system 42 coupled to the floor distribution section includes recirculated supply device and a recirculation duct 72. A recirculation outlet is coupled in flow communication to the recirculation duct and in flow communication with the recirculation zone and/or the floor distribution section.
