The environmental modifying agent which is prepared by mixing an aqueous photocatalyst solution composed of fine photocatalyst powder and water as principal components and an aqueous microorganismic group solution composed of a plurality of kinds of useful microorganisms including actinomyces as principal components and has good transparency, is used by depositing the agent to solids, such as building materials like walls, or the like, and interior decorations like curtains, or the like, and drying the deposited materials to fix the useful microorganisms and the fine photocatalyst powder in the form of thin films to the surfaces of the solids.
