To produce ephyra which is a larva of jellyfish stably throughout the year.
Ephyra is produced by using a polyp-culture water tank 100 containing a polyp adhesion base 16 in a water tank for polyp culture and having water-temperature controlling means 26 capable of switching the tank between a polyp culture mode to keep the seawater temperature in the tank to a level suitable for polyp culture and a strobilation mode to cool the seawater temperature in the tank to a level to cause strobilation of the polyp, culturing the polyp in the polyp culture mode, switching to the strobilation mode according to the sales demand of ephyra, recovering the ephyra after isolation of the ephyra, and continuing the polyp culture by returning the tank to the polyp culture mode. The ephyra can be produced continuously throughout the year by placing a plurality of the polyp culture tanks and successively rotating the tank to the strobilation mode. The produced ephyra is easily recovered by providing an ephyra recovery path 40.
