Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound containing epoxy group and cyanoethyl group, having high dielectric constant, exhibiting thermal curing and crosslinking by the combined use of a crosslinking agent and useful e.g. as a binder resin for dispersion-type electroluminescent material.
CONSTITUTION: This epoxy compound having high dielectric constant and expressed by formula I [R is residue obtained by removing all OH groups from a (m+n)-valent polyhydroxyl compound; (m) and (n) are ≥1 and m+n is 2-4] or formula II. The compound of formula I can be produced either by reacting 1mol of a (m+n)-valent polyhydroxyl compound of formula III with (m)-mol of epichlorohydrin and subjecting the product to Michael addition reaction with (n)-mol of acrylonitrile or by subjecting 1mol of the polyhydroxyl compound to Michael addition reaction with (n)-mol of acrylonitrile and reacting the product with (m)-mol of epichlorohydrin. The compound of formula II is obtained by the Michael addition reaction of 1mol of glycidol with 1mol of acrylonitrile.
