The epoxy powder coating comprises 100 pts. wt. of a solid epoxy resin (A), 0.1-30 pts. wt. of an imidazole curing catalyst (B), 1-20 pts. wt. of a wax (C), 0.1-20 pts. wt. of an acicular crystal mineral (D) and 0.2-40 pts. wt. of an acid hydrazide curing agent (E). The method for forming the epoxy powder coating film on the casting comprises applying the epoxy powder coating on the casting to be coated at a temperature where the powder coating does not melt and subsequently heating the coating to form the powder coating film.
