PURPOSE: To prevent the increase in circuit scale by delaying an output of a cyclic transversal filter by a delay based on a backward tap number of an acyclic transversal filter.

CONSTITUTION: In the case of making series connection between a cyclic transversal filter and an acyclic transversal filter TF1, TF2, a delay device causing a same delay time as a maximum delay time ((m-1)T) of the TF1 is connected between an output terminal 34 and an input terminal 32. A cascade output from the TF2 is delayed by (m-1)T and inputted to an input terminal 1 of the TF2 via the input terminal 32. On the other hand, a cascade output from the output terminal 2 of the TF1 is inputted to a cascade input terminal 4 of the TF2 and the calculation corresponding to the final tap of the TF1 and the calculation corresponding to the initial tap of the TF2 are consecutive on a time axis and independent of number of taps of the TF2. Thus, waveform equalization and ghost elimination are attained without increase of number of stages of delay devices.
