To reduce calculation quantity by compensating for channel distortion to many carriers that are received, based on the overall subchannel characteristic values.
A channel estimating device 110 estimates a channel by using coordinate value that corresponds to a scatter pilot position and outputs channel characteristic value in the scattered pilot position. An adder 114 adds each carrier that is outputted from a zero inserting device 112 in a four symbol unit and outputs the channel characteristic of one symbol in a pilot position that has a three-subchannel cycle. A coefficient interpolating device 116 interpolates through the use of linear interpolation, constant interpolation or window FIR filter interpolation with channel characteristic value in the pilot position that has a three-subchannel cycle and outputs an interpolated coefficient. Furthermore, a frequency area equalizer 118 multiplies data that eliminates a protection band which is output from a protection band eliminating device 104 by an inverse number of the interpolated coefficient and outputs interpolated data.
