PURPOSE: To provide an improved equipment and method for quickly producing cylindrical pressure vessels through metal spinning operations by simultaneously forming the end caps integrally from a hollow, thin-walled cylindrical tube stock that is rotatably supported.

CONSTITUTION: The main structural elements are, for example, the frame device 11 containing the primary and secondary base mounting pads 12, 20, 21; various devices for heating a tube stock 24; a driving and clamping device 50 for supporting and rotating the tube stock 24; and rollers 40, 41 for forming the tube stock fixed on the pair of the secondary base mounting pads 20, 21. The arrangement is designed to rationally distribute the wall thickness to each part for the purpose of improving the durability and performance of the vessel particularly by imparting a controlled thickness to the knuckle area in the end portion of the vessel.
