PURPOSE: To stably produce good-quality sheet materials by casting the sheet materials by ≥1 continuous casting machines, coiling these sheet materials by a coiler and heat holding or heating the coiled sheet materials in a tunnel furnace.
CONSTITUTION: The sheet materials are cast by the ≥1 continuous casting machines 8 and the unequal temps. of the sheet materials generated at the time of casting are made uniform by a soaking pit 7. The sheet materials are coiled by the coiler 6 and are taken into the tunnel furnace 5. The coiled sheet materials are held hot or heated to a temp. adequate for rolling in the tunnel furnace 5. The sheet materials are moved to a discharge port and are discharged to the coiler 4. The sheet materials are coiled and held hot or heated, by which the necessary space is greatly reduced and further, the matching of the production speeds of the continuous casting machines 8 and a rolling mill group 1 is possible.
