Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a device for recording and reproducing reduced data video information by improving the reproduction of a video signal in a feature mode. CONSTITUTION: The recording and reproducing device is provided with a data reducing unit 3 and a format unit 4 for generating 1st, 2nd and 3rd packet parts PP1 , PP2 , PP3 and the 1st packet part PP1 is provided with a synchronizing word SW and an identification(ID) word 10. The 2nd packet part PP2 successively stores the DC coefficient DC0 of a 1st data block, plural upper AC coefficients MAC0 of the 1st data block and then the DC coefficient DC1 of a 2nd data block at the time of storing the reduced data video signals of the 1st and 2nd data blocks. Plural upper AC coefficients MAC1 of the 2nd data block are stored before the DC coefficient DC1 of the 2nd data block.
