PURPOSE: To eliminate the need of making the entire structure into a straight line and to reduce the volume of the entire system by dividing incident light beams into reflected beams and remaining components by a polarized light division plate.
CONSTITUTION: A first prism 62 is provided with an incident surface 622, a polarized light division surface 624 and an appearance surface 626 and the polarized light division surface 624 is provided in a predetermined angle relating to the incident surface 622 and covered with a film for dividing the light beam LI into a first reflected beam LP (provided with the P polarized wave component of the beam LI) and the remaining component LS (provided with the S polarized wave component of the beam LI.) Also, the appearance surface 626 is provided with the angle θ relating to the polarized light division surface 624 and the first reflected beam LP is emitted from the surface. Then, a second prism 64 is provided with a boundary surface 642 and a reflection surface 644 and the reflection surface 644 is provided with the angle &phiv relating to the appearance surface of the first prism 62 and reflects the remaining part of the light beam LI called also as a second reflection beam LS provided with the S polarized wave component of the light beam LI.
