PURPOSE: To provide the error check method applicable stably to occurrence of a burst error in which the umber of errors in an inputted pseudo random pattern(PN) code is accurately counted and pattern synchronization is quickly taken with respect to the error check method and the error detector for a used to check whether or not a random pattern generated in a simulating manner is a valid pattern in compliance with the generation rules thereby detecting an error pattern.
CONSTITUTION: The receiver side is provided with a 1st PN generation polynomial arithmetic operation circuit 1 which receives a PN pattern generated by itself to generate a succeeding PN in order to easily identify whether an error is an error detected from PN reception data or an error based on pattern asynchronization and with 2nd PN generation polynomial arithmetic operation circuit 1' which receives the reception data to generate a succeeding PN. The PN pattern outputted from the 1st and 2nd circuits 1, 1' and the reception data are compared in parallel, an error is checked in each circuit and pattern synchronization deviation is discriminated based on the check state of the error.
