To provide an escalator cart capable of advancing and settling with an increase of a step-off portion without any sudden settlement with a rapid motion after a large increase in the step-off portion until settlement after entering an entrance of the escalator regardless of up/down motions.
In the cart of which vehicle body supported with six wheels is folded into two in the escalator to travel with four wheels in a straight line on a flat place, a distance between two wheels which settle crossing over the advancing two steps is set to a distance which is longer than the depth of a step tread surface within a range so as not to cross over three steps and not to simultaneously get on an identical step. If a kicker for moving the cart with an increase of the step-off portion is added, cart movement starts at the same time as entrance and, after an increase of the step-off portion is completed, the cart reaches settlement, thus settling the cart only by advancing without falling off the step after the escalator enters the entrance of the escalator until the settlement.
