To realize an escalator device more suitable for suppressing deterioration of a smoothing capacitor provided in a DC part of an inverter device.

This escalator device is provided with a motor 12 for driving an escalator 10, a motor driving device 16 for driving the motor 12 by an AC power source, the inverter device 18 connected to the motor driving device 16 in parallel, and a control device 20 for switching and controlling the motor driving device 16 and the inverter device 18. In the inverter device 18, the smoothing capacitor 22 is provided in the DC part, and primary side electromagnetic contactor 24 and secondary side electromagnetic contactor 26 are disposed on an input side and an output side, respectively. The control device 20 has a smoothing capacitor deterioration suppressing function to output an opening/closing command to the primary side electromagnetic contactor 24, while outputting an open command to the secondary side electromagnetic contactor 26.
