Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escalator capable of performing inspection automatically.SOLUTION: One footstep 300 is heavier than other footsteps 30 among plural footsteps 30, and a footstep chain 28 detects a direction to be pulled by the heavier footstep 300, and a reduction gear sprocket 21 and a drive sprocket 24 are rotated in the direction to be pulled by a motor 20. First time difference from starting of rotation of the motor 20 to starting of movement of the footsteps 30 is measured. Based on the first time difference, extension of a drive chain 22 is measured.
