Abstract:

To provide an ester which excels in rust preventability, oil stain resistance, degreasing properties, water separability, and storage stability as a rust preventive additive, furthermore imparts lubricating properties, and also excels in isoparaffin solubility at low temperatures, a rust preventive oil composition and a lubricating oil composition which contain the ester.

The ester obtained by removing a crystalline component by the solvent fractionation method from an ester of a lanolin fatty acid and an alcohol obtained after recovering cholesterol from lanolin alcohol.
