Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: Esters of carboxylic acids in which the alcohol component of the ester is a group of formula I [R1 is H or lower alkyl; R2 is H, lower (halo) alkyl, lower alkenyl, (hetero)aryl, etc.; R3 is H, lower alkyl or lower alkoxycarbonyl; R4 is -COOR5 (R5 is 1-12C hydrocarbon residue etc.), -COR6 (R6 is lower alkyl, aryl), etc.].
EXAMPLE: (E)-2-(isobutoxycarbonyl)-2-pentenyl(6R,7R)-7-[(Z)-2-(2-amino-4- thiozoryl)-2-(methoxyimino)acetoamide]-3-(azidemethyl)-8-oxo-5-thia-1- azabicyclo[4,2,0]octo-2-ene-2-carboxylate.
USE: An agent for prevention and control of infectious diseases.
PROCESS: Antibiotically active carboxylic acids are esterified by the compound of formula II (X is OH or a leaveng group).
