Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily and accurately estimate the degree of creep damage in turbine components by determining the degree of creep damage by measuring the creep void density in a very small sample taken from the turbine components. CONSTITUTION:A cubical sample having sides of several milimeters long is taken from turbine components which do not allow the measurement of hardness due to structural reasons. The creep void density is measured on the sample, and the hardness is decided from the relationship between the creep void density and hardness, and ultimately the degree of creep damage in the turbine components is estimated from the relationship between the hardness and degree of creep void density. Thus, the degree of creep damage in the turbine components which do not allow the measurement of hardness can easily and accurately be estimated.
