Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating a fine-grained fraction content and N value from measurement values in rotating penetration test.SOLUTION: In penetration test for, when rotating a penetration rod 1 having a screw point 3 at the front end to penetrate into a ground, measuring the rotation torque and the penetration amount of the penetration rod 1 while stepwisely changing a load applied onto the penetration rod, a plurality of testing parameters are defined on the basis of the load, the rotation torque and the penetration amount and set as explanatory variables and objective variables are used as the fine-grained fraction content and the N value for executing multiple regression analysis to find a regression expression using at least one of the testing parameters as the explanatory variable. The fine-grained fraction content and the N value are estimated from the regression expression. The estimation values are approximate to actual measurement values, and so highly reliable.
