Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient design taking account of soil improvement effect by an increasing horizontal earth pressure between piles by the piles driven in a target ground.
SOLUTION: In the pile driving works driving the piles for every allotted area A in the target ground and estimating the increase in the horizontal earth pressure between the piles in the allotted area A, an increase ratio RK0 of a coefficient of the rest earth pressure of the target ground after the soil improvement to an assessment index found by drawing attention to clearances between soil particles of the target ground before driving the piles is calculated from a relation using a ratio (improvement ratio as) of the pile cross section As to the allotted area A as a parameter so as to estimate the coefficient K0* of the rest earth pressure of the target ground.
