To provide an etching memorial wherein a photograph having high durability is formed on a surface of a metal substrate by changing the shape of the surface thereof.

In an etching plate 1, a large number of halftone recesses 3 are formed on a surface of a metal plate 2 by etching to provide a figure photograph 4 in commemoration of coming-of-age. And in order to improve the clearness of the photograph, a coloring agent 5 is applied into each of the halftone recesses. Since the photograph 4 is formed by providing changes in the configuration of the surface of the plate 2, the photograph 4 is prevented from being deteriorated or eliminated and hence it has high durability and value as a memorial.
