Abstract:

Ether amine oxides of the formula in which R denotes C8-C20-alkyl, C8-C20-alkenyl or C4-C18-alkylaryl, R1 and R2 are identical or different and denote C1-C4-alkyl, x denotes a number from 2 to 12 and R3 denotes a group of the formulae -C2H4- and/or -C3H6-, are prepared by oxidation of the underlying ether amines of the formula RO-(R3O)x-NR1R2. The compounds are suitable as surfactant assistants in mineral oil recovery.
