To obtain an ethylene-based polymer that does not cause a bad condition such as mold stains even when used as a dispersant (carrier resin) for a masterbatch while having an excellent rigidity, heat resistance and flowability.
The ethylene-based polymer is an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and a 4-10C -olefin and simultaneously satisfies requirements [1] the melt flow rate (MFR) at 190C under 2.16 kg load is in a range of 10-3,000 g/10 minutes, [2] the density (d) is in a range of 875-990 kg/m3, [3] the ratio (Mw/Mn) of a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) to a number-average molecular weight (Mn) measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) is in a range of 2-5 and [4] the relation between the MFR and the density satisfies (Eq-1) [Y is the density (kg/m3); X is the MFR (g/10 minutes)].
