Abstract:

To obtain an ethylene copolymer for coating being excellent in the ability to rapidly form coating films and giving coating films excellent in heat stability.

This copolymer is the one comprising ethylene and a 3-20C a-olefin and satisfies the following requirements: (1) the melt flow rate (MFR) is in the range of 3-20g/10min as measured at 190°C under a load of 2.16 kg, (2) the relationship: log MT-0.66logMFR+0.6 (wherein MT is the melt tension at 190°C), (3) the relationship: TUB>1.061logMFR+0.3 (wherein TUB is the take-up rate at break at 190°C), and (4) the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) as measured by gel permeation chromatography(GPC) is in the range of 3-7.
