PURPOSE: To obtain an ethylene polymer compsn. which can be molded into a container excellent in stiffness and resistance to environmental stress crack when the wall thickness is lower than that of a conventional container by compounding two specific ethylene polymers each having a specified intrinsic viscosity in a specified wt. ratio.
CONSTITUTION: This compsn. comprises 8-25wt.% copolymer of 90wt.% ethylene with 10wt.% another α-olefin having an intrinsic viscosity η of 7-20dl/g and 92-75wt.% ethylene homopolymer or copolymer of 90wt.% or higher ethylene with 10wt.% or lower another α-olefin having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5-2.5dl/g and has a melt index of 0.01-1.0g/10min. a density of 958-973kgm3, a melt storage elastic modulus G'0.01 at 10-2 radian/sec of 1.0×104dyn/cm2 or higher, and a content of hexane extract at 85°C of 14wt.% or lower.
