PURPOSE: To obtain the title agent suitable as a freshness-retentive agent for vegetables and fruits and petals by ion exchange with palladium (complex) ions of (part of) the ions capable of ion-exchanging in organic and/or inorganic ion exchanger.

CONSTITUTION: The objective ethylene-removing agent can be obtain by ion exchange with palladium (complex) ions of (part of) the ions capable of ion- exchanging in organic and/or inorganic ion exchanger. It is preferable that the present ethylene-removing agent be used in such a manner as to be dispersed as a form of preparations and as a freshness-retentive agent for vegetables and fruits and petals.
