PURPOSE: To obtain the subject film from a specific kneaded melt, crosslinkable by electron beams, excellent in oxygen gas-barrier property and also low in its temperature dependency, rich in flexibility and adhesiveness to meat, good in transparency, thus useful for packaging meat.

CONSTITUTION: (A) An ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer saponified product is incorporated with (B) maleic anhydride pref. at 0.1-4mmol, per mol of the vinyl alcohol unit:[-CH2-CH(OH)-] of the component A followed by melting and kneading, and the product is then subjected to film formation, and the resultant film is irradiated with electron beams (e.g. at an absorption dose of 50-2OOKGy, under a voltage of 300KV, at irradiation temperature of 30°C) to effect crosslinking.
