PURPOSE: To enable a table used in summer etc. to be change into a foot warmer (KOTATSU) by a method wherein a bottom plate having a heater is provided under a stand of a height at which chairs can be used and a shielding means is mounted between adjacent legs of the stand so that the means can freely be attached and detached, and opened and shut.

CONSTITUTION: The stand 1 made by connecting a top plate to the top ends of several legs 2aW2d has a height at which the stand can be used as a table when a man sits on a common chair. The top plate 3 is plane and nearly rectangular and is made up by connecting horizontal frames 4aW4d arranged on four sides to lengthwise and crosswise intersected grates 5. When the stand is used as a table, a top 12 is mounted on the top plate 3 of the stand 1. On the other hand, when the stand is used as a foot warmer (KOTATSU) a plate shielding means 13A is mounted detachably at least between the adjacent legs 2aW2d and a bottom plate 17 having a heater 18 on the upper surface is arranged under the stand 1. The stand 1 is used with a cover 15 as occasion calls.
