Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a signal quality evaluating method for a direct sequence spread spectrum receiver by sampling only the phase part of each symbol within an input stream, judging a phase error with respect to each sample and calculating the evaluation of a signal quality from the phase difference of plural samples. SOLUTION: A demodulator 10 receives the I and Q components of a symbol within a received signal through A/D converters 12 and 14, removes symbol spread sequence by correlating equipments 16 and 18, synthesizes and converts it from a Cartesian coordinate to a polar coordinate system by a converter 20. A signal showing the size of the symbol from the converter 20 is outputted as a signal quality 2 being the evaluation of a signal amplitude through an integrator 32 and a timer 34, and a signal showing the phase of the symbol from the converter 20 is given symbol timing and sub-rate sampling and outputted as a signal quality 1 of the phase through a phase locked loop 27 and a calculation block 30. Thereby the signal quality evaluating method for the direct sequence spread spectrum receiver is obtained.
