Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of evaluating a suppression effect of coal ash to be used on an alkali-silica reaction in a quick as well as accurate manner and to provide a manufacturing method of cement and concrete using the method.SOLUTION: A coal ash evaluation method: calculates a specific surface area of a particle of a specific type contained in coal ash to be used through a particle analysis using an electronic microscope; and evaluates a suppression effect of the coal ash to be used on an alkali-silica reaction by comparing data on expansion coefficients obtained through alkali-silica reaction tests using mortar mixed with preliminarily collected coal ash from different production areas. The coal ash evaluation method also calculates a necessary compounding amount of the coal ash to be used for cement and concrete using a product of the specific surface area of the particle of the specific type contained in the coal ash to be used and a cement substitution rate of the coal ash as an index for suppression of the alkali-silica reaction.
