To provide an evaluating method of an outer deformation of a dam, which evaluates the outer deformation level of a dam quickly and precisely after occurrence of an earthquake.
An evaluation method of the outer deformation level of a dam includes: measuring the outer deformation level in real time using a plurality of GPS receiving devices set at the dam; calculating the displacement data of the dam from the obtained time series of measuring data through a CPU to store in a storage means; and also calculating the processed displacement data after filtering processing and smoothing processing of the displacement data to store in a storage means. With the signal of an earthquake occurring, the standard deviation in the dam displacement data before the earthquake and the average value x of the dam displacement data after the earthquake are calculated to calculate the displacement with Z-estimation through the CPU using the average value x and the standard deviation before the earthquake.
