Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable great mass purge by accurately and shortly predicting a fuel amount desorbed from a canister during purge treatment and air/fuel ratio change due to purge resulting therefrom and correcting a fuel injection amount in accordance with the predicted air/fuel ratio change to reduce in air/fuel ratio change.
SOLUTION: A controller 21 computes the amount of a fuel desorbed from the canister 4 during purge treatment by using a canister model composed of an expression for computing an adsorption amount and a desorption amount. To reduce in air/fuel ration change due to purge at a target purge factor, the purge component correction coefficient of a fuel injection pulse width is computed in accordance with the computed amount of the desorbed fuel and dead time correction and delay correction in annealing treatment are applied to the purge component correction coefficient. The purge component correction coefficient after delay correction is used in correcting the fuel injection pulse width for driving a fuel injection valve 15.
