To improve evaporation performance in an evaporator for sprinkling or spraying liquid 5 to the outer surface side of a flat tube 2 and a corrugated fin 3 by using the corrugated fin type evaporator.
The evaporator comprises a plurality of flat tubes (2) that are arranged in parallel one another and pass a heating fluid (1) inside, and a plurality of corrugated fins (3) that are arranged between the adjacent, flat tubes (2). A number of fine grooves (4) for diffusing liquid drops are formed on the surface of the corrugated fins (3). The evaporator for supplying liquid (5) to be evaporated is provided at the outer surface of the corrugated fin (3) and the flat tube (2). The long axis in the traverse plane of the flat tube (2) and the width direction of the corrugate fin (3) are positioned in a gravity direction, and the liquid (5) is sprinkled or sprayed on the outer surface. A number of fine grooves 4 for sprinkling the liquid drops are formed on the surface of the corrugated fin 3.
