Abstract:
To provide an ulcerative colitis examination method and device, and therapeutic agent screening method useful for determining disease state of ulcerative colitis.SOLUTION: A ulcerative colitis examination method is disclosed. This method comprises: a step of performing an anaerobic culture using culture liquid including a fecal sample collected from a test subject; a step of collecting data of indicators of ulcerative colitis from the culture liquid; and a step of comparing the data with standard indicators from healthy individuals and/or individuals suffering from ulcerative colitis; wherein the anaerobic culture is performed with the culture liquid at a pH of 6.2 to 6.7 at the start of culturing and thereafter left standing. Furthermore, a therapeutic agent screening method for ulcerative colitis is disclosed. Additionally, an ulcerative colitis examination device is disclosed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
