PURPOSE: To improve a power energy efficiency by alternately arranging movable blades and fixed blades while the interval between the movable blades and the protrusion height of the movable blade relative to the fixed blade are specified.
CONSTITUTION: The interval between drive blades 3 which are movable blades is set 3.5-4.5 times of blade width, while a distance between a blade 3 and a fixed blade 4 is 1-3 times of blade width b. When it is penetrated into a rock by an air hammer 1, the part of rock at a connection point between the blade 3 and the rock is crushed into cores. Then the force generated by the pressure of the core produces fragments of rock, causing a softened rock relative to the blade 3. Then the interaction of the blades 3 raises the height of a softened rock, allowing the blade 4 to contact for braking the rock. Thus, the force required for excavation is significantly reduced, for assured work.
