To provide an excitation device and an excitation test method suitable for testing earthquake resistance of an existing house.
This excitation device is formed by including a board-shaped upper stage frame body where an excitation object is placed, a relative shear movement resistance force reduction means such as a roller including a rolling body, a board-shaped middle stage frame body where the upper stage frame body is placed across the relative shear movement resistance force reduction means, the second relative shear movement resistance force reduction means, a base where the middle stage frame body is placed across the second relative shear movement resistance force reduction means, an excitation means for vibrating the upper stage frame body in one horizontal vibration direction, the second excitation means for vibrating the middle stage frame body horizontally and orthogonally to one vibration direction, and the third excitation means for vibrating the base vertically. In the device, each frame body and the base are formed by connecting a plurality of frame members composably and decomposably. This excitation test method of a house includes a process for separating the existing house from the foundation, placing it on the excitation device, and vibrating it.
