Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to evaluate the vibration characteristic of an engine without operating actual engine to reduce the developing peroid and cost, by exciting a combustion chamber of the engine filled with a liquid by both of hydraulic exciting type and piezoelectric exciting type actuators to reproduce simulatively in-cylinder pressure of actual engine.
SOLUTION: An exciting control signal is output to a hydraulic exciter 5 as an exciting actuator and a piezoelectric element 6 via an amplifier and a controller from a personal computor to reproduce continuously a change of an actual in-cylinder pressure ranging from engine compression stroke to a combustion stroke. The hydraulic exciter 5 and the piezoelectric element are stroked (extended and contracted) according to the control signal to reciprocate exciting pistons 7, 8 via an adapter 9, 10. Pressure of a gas oil 15 inside a cylinder block 12 is changed (increased and decreased) thereby to repeocduce the actual in-cylinder pressure.
