Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excrement-treating granular material which is uniformly colored and has a good appearance, whose color does not stain bodies of animals, even if it gets wet at excretion, and a manufacturing process therefor.
SOLUTION: The dry, coated granular material comprises a granular core part and a coating layer part. The granular core part has a grain size of ≥1 mm and contains an organic material powder and a water-absorbing resin at an amount smaller than that of the organic material powder. The coating layer part at least partially covers the surface of the granular core part and contains paper powder, colored inorganic material powder and a water-absorbing resin or a thickening agent or alternatively contains paper powder, colored inorganic material powder, a water-absorbing resin and a thickening agent. Since the coating layer part contains the colored inorganic material powder, the granular excrement-treating material which is uniformly colored and has a good appearance and whose color does not stain the bodies of the animals, even if it gets wet, can be obtained.
