A vacuum tank 230 is provided between a suction port Aa of an air compressor 205 which sucks the air in a discharge tank 200 to get the inside thereof 200 evacuated to a negative pressure and the discharge tank 200 and an air tank 229 is provided on the side of a delivery port Ab of the air compressor 205. When sucking the excrements discharged into a diaper 12, two-way valves 204 and 208 are closed and the air compressor 205 is operated to render the vacuum tank 230 vacuum so that the compressed air is stored into the air tank 229 while the two-way valves 204 and 208 are opened simultaneously. This shifts the pressure inside the diaper 12 to a weak negative pressure to improve the suction capacity of the excrements while enabling the miniaturization of the excrement treating apparatus.
