To obtain an excellent excreta treating material for animal, capable of controlling powdering in handling such as transportation, loading, etc., exhibiting excellent liquid absorption, deodorizing force, antimicrobial properties and forming a lump when splashed with urine, surely removing only the lump, combustible, being hygienic and having economic efficiency.
This excreta treating material for animal is obtained by granulating a material comprising wood flour consisting essentially of white cedar, an inorganic material and sodium carboxymethylcellulose into a porous granule. The main material obtained by compounding the wood flour consisting essentially of white cedar with the inorganic material in an amount of 100 pts.wt. is mixed with 0.5-15 pts.wt. of sodium carboxymethylcellulose having 0.6 to 1.5 substitution degree of carboxymethyl group and 1,000-9,000 Pa.s viscosity of 1% aqueous solution.
