The excretion treatment apparatus 100 comprises an excretion receiver 1 and an apparatus body 2. The excretion receiver 1 comprises a receiver body 10 for receiving the excretion, and the excretion detection sensor 20 for detecting the excretion. The apparatus body 2 comprises a urine tank 51 for storing urine, a vacuum pump 52 for sucking the urine received by the receiver body 10 into the urine tank 51, and a control device 53. The excretion detection sensor 20 has a pair of urine detecting electrodes 21 and 22 for detecting the urine received by the receiver body 10. The control device 52 controls the urine detecting electrodes 21 and 22 to reverse the polarity of the electrodes at prescribed intervals.
