Abstract:
The engine exhaust pipe has a tube with divergent and straight section, the smaller diameter end of the divergent section being connected to the engine. The straight sections has radial supports for a central profiled body with a conical front portion and a tapered tail portion. The profiled body may be displaceable along the axis of the tube, this being in response to the engine operating conditions. The straight section of the tube may be formed with apertures and be provided with a sound absorbent sleeve.
