PURPOSE: To scrape out carbon an oil coagulated between exhaust control valves and cylinder bodies into exhaust passages so as to prevent adhesion there of by operating the exhaust control valves after stopping an engine by means of a control device which controls the exhaust control valves of a two-cycle engine.
CONSTITUTION: Each cylinder 4 is provided with a scavenging passage 15 a sub-exhaust passage 17, and a main exhaust passage 16 for press-feeding air. One end of each sub-exhaust passage 17 is opened into each cylinder 4, while the other end is communicated with the main exhaust passage 16 through each exhaust control valve 21. Respective exhaust control valves 21 are connected to each other by means of cylindrical connection members 25, and opened or closed by means of a step motor 29 controlled by an electric control unit (ECU) 30. The exhaust control valves 21 start rotational movement when a cooling water temperature is lowered to a certain extent after stopping an engine. When the cooling water temperature is further lowered, the exhaust control valves 21 are control to be stopped. With such an adhesion preventive means, carbon and oil coagulated between the exhaust control valves 21 and the cylinder bodies are scraped out into the exhaust passages, so that adhesion may be prevented.
