Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust device of an engine which can suppress the deterioration of a catalyst in a high-rotation/high-load operation region while activating the exhaust gas purification catalyst in a low-rotation/low-load operation region.SOLUTION: An exhaust device of a multicylinder engine which can switch an operation state between a full-cylinder operation for discharging exhaust gases from all cylinders by combusting fuel in all the cylinders, and a reduced-cylinder operation for discharging the exhaust gas from a part of cylinders by combusting the fuel in the part of cylinders, comprises: a first exhaust pipe which is connected to an exhaust port corresponding to a part of cylinders; a second exhaust pipe which is connected to an exhaust port corresponding to a cylinder other than the part of cylinders; a catalyst device which is located at a downstream side of an exhaust emission flow direction rather than the first exhaust pipe and the second exhaust pipe, and purifies the exhaust gas which has passed the first exhaust pipe, and the exhaust gas which has passed the second exhaust pipe; and heat radiation suppression means for suppressing the heat radiation of the first exhaust pipe.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
