Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously burn PM collected by a DPF in all the driving ranges of an on-vehicle diesel engine even under very cold environments.
SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device for a diesel engine is provided with a first continuous regeneration type DPF in an engine exhaust passage, a second continuous regeneration type DPF in a bypass passage, a change-over valve to change exhaust gas passages, an exhaust gas temperature raising means, an exhaust temperature range detecting means, and a control means to control the exhaust gas temperature raising means and the change-over valve. The control means controls the change-over valve to actuate the exhaust gas temperature rising means, conduct post-injection, and have exhaust gas pass the second continuous regeneration DPF in a case where an engine exhaust temperature range detected by the exhaust temperature range detecting means is a very low temperature range lower than a prescribed temperature range.
