To provide a comparatively simple structured exhaust emission control device for an engine, reducing NOx and simultaneously collecting fine particles in exhaust gas.
This exhaust emission control device is provided with a selective reduction type catalyst 24 arranged in an exhaust pipe 16 and a liquid injection nozzle 29 ejecting urea-based liquid 32 toward the catalyst. A diesel particulate filter 51 is arranged in the exhaust pipe on a farther exhaust gas downstream side of the selective reduction type catalyst, and constituted to increase and reduce hydrocarbon supplied to the exhaust pipe. A first oxidation catalyst 52 is arranged in the exhaust pipe on a farther exhaust gas downstream side of the selective reduction type catalyst and on a farther exhaust gas upstream side of the filter. A second oxidation catalyst 53 is arranged in the exhaust pipe 16 on a farther exhaust gas upstream side of the liquid injection nozzle 29. A single convertor 27 is arranged in the exhaust pipe 16, and the selective reduction type catalyst 24, the first oxidation catalyst 52, and the diesel particulate filter 51 are stored in the convertor 27.
