To provide an exhaust emission control device for internal combustion engine with high durability and reliability which efficiently regenerates a filter for an exhaust gas post-treatment device by a simple and inexpensive constitution.
A filter (24) trapping fine particles in an exhaust gas is rotated by a filter rotation means (30, 32, 34). A sub-area (28) is formed independently from an exhaust passage (26) separated radially by a partition means (25) from the center of the center axis of a filter in a right upstream and a right downstream space of the filter. A regeneration means (40) to incinerate fine particles trapped with the filter and regenerate the filter is provided in the sub-area. A sub-passage (56) communicating with the sub-area is provided in isolation from an exhaust passage (54) in the downstream side of the sub-area.
